With such a great bunch of Fred-trained crew thought, why not get you together and make sweet introductions?
How do we do this?
1. We have an exclusive Facebook page
āFreds Oral Prep Club"
The purpose of this exclusive group is to have access to a bunch of like-minded "Fred-trained crew." Iāve taught over 1,000 of you now, so letās use the Club to help each other out when you need a new job, crew, or someone to cover you when you need to go to your best mateās wedding.
2. Introductions
Past Students and Crew Agents contact us regularly wanting Fred-trained crew and to see if āwe know anyoneā¦ā Luckily, we usually do. š
3. Help with your CV
We are not going to rewrite your CV but we will give you our honest feedback and offer basic edits or corrections.
Is there a catch?
Well, I donāt just let anyone inā¦
People want Fred-trained crew, so once you have passed your OOW or Masters with me, then you may be invited to join. ā We did say itās exclusive.
Are you a crew agent?
No. We are much too blunt for that because we wonāt bother listing opportunities for boats we would not go on ourselves.
Along that line, there is no charge to advertise/apply for jobs and we donāt take a commission. We list these opportunities as a courtesy to our students and our friends in the industry.
If you do need a crew agent, however, we can point you in the right direction.
Want to advertise or apply for a job?
To Apply
Well, first you have to PASS your exam of course. ā Which you will, if you prep for it with me.
After that, you can either apply for the job directly or if the boat would like to stay anonymous, then through Emma at emma@fredsoralprep.com.
Happy job hunting!
